For this assignment I was assigned Robert Cailliau to research and create an informative web page about. Cailliau had a direct role in the creation of the world wide web through his work with CERN. I decided that in designing the webpage I wanted to take some visual aspect of his work and emulate it in a more modern context.
Wireframe
Through research I discovered that Robert Cailliau was directly responsible for the proposals for the internet in its infancy. After the internets inception, Cailliau created browsers for the Mac operating system along with UNIX Flavors. I decided to emulate the Mac OSX system browser: Samba.
UI comp
Cailliau’s greatest achievement may not be his work on operating systems but rather one the of most utilized functions of a website. He invented hyperlinking and I wanted to showcase his contributions by littering my entire website with links to other “relevant” web pages that could help educate others. This project may have been one of the most intense projects that I have worked on as it was my first custom coded responsive website that I have developed.
